Volcán Zunil desde Fuentes Georginas

Trail description

A 6.9 km ascent via the trail starting from Fuentes Georginas, climbing through the forest to the summit of Volcán Zunil (3,542 m), located between Quetzaltenango and Sololá. Zunil belongs to the oldest geological generation of volcanoes in Guatemala and lacks a crater, which led many to consider it a mountain for years. The ascent takes 4 to 6 hours depending on weather and fitness; warm clothing is recommended due to the cold at the summit.
