Laguna de Calderas

Trail description

A 2 km hike along dirt paths through the Volcán de Pacaya and Laguna de Calderas National Park, passing through the village of Calderas to the shores of the lagoon in the municipality of Amatitlán. The lagoon is volcanic in origin, formed in a crater with geothermal activity, and is part of the Lake Amatitlán basin. It is surrounded by humid forest and is used for sport fishing and boat trips.
