Trail description

The yellow route is one of three marked trails in the UNESCO World Heritage area beside Ilulissat, crossing the headland west of Sermermiut to the coast at Kingittoq, about 1.5 hours on hilly ground that can be wet. Sudden thick fog is common in summer and there is little phone coverage away from town; keep to the marked trails and stay off the shoreline, where waves from calving icebergs can be deadly. Since June 2025 a site fee is charged from June to October for this area, and the Sermermiut area is keep-off except the boardwalk from April to October.
