Dimitsana to Zygovisti (Menalon Trail)

Trail description

Section 2 of the Menalon Trail, the waymarked route through the mountain villages of Gortynia certified as a Leading Quality Trail by the European Ramblers Association. The short stage leaves Dimitsana past its historic library and climbs gently out of the Lousios valley to a plateau with the church of Agia Paraskevi. From there the views take in Dimitsana, Paliochori and Zatouna before the path reaches the stone village of Zygovisti at the edge of the fir forest. It is about 4 km with a climb of around 200 m.
