Sentier Fort Diamant (Rémire-Montjoly)

Trail description

Starting across the road from Fort Diamant, about 6 km from Rémire along the Route des Plages, this path passes a cacao plantation and a bamboo grove before a steep climb onto the ridge of Mont Mahury. On clear days the viewpoints look over the shipping channel into Dégrad des Cannes and the Rémire islets, and the ridge continues past Lac Lalouette to the Rorota trail. Allow 2 hours return; a good third of the route is steep.
