Sentier de Montabo (Cayenne)

Trail description

The Sentier de Montabo crosses the forested Montabo hill in Cayenne between the ocean and the slope, with trailheads on the route de Montabo near the IRD (parking) and opposite the Jean Macé school. Footbridges carry the path over sea-washed rocks, and viewpoints look over the Atlantic and the mangrove, with monkeys, green iguanas and sea birds often seen. The trail is marked and easy, and the full out-and-back of about 3.8 km takes 2 to 2.5 hours.
