Sentier de la Montagne des Singes (Kourou)

Trail description

This marked loop climbs the Montagne des Singes, a forested hill on space centre (CNES) land at PK 14 of the route du Dégrad Saramaca southwest of Kourou, crossing a clearing, a creek and swamp forest to a summit shelter at about 161 m. From the ONF carbet the view takes in Kourou, the Kourou river, the Îles du Salut and the space centre. Good walking shoes, enough water and insect protection are advised, as the area can be very wet.
