Trail description

A four-day trek of 53 km and about 1,700 m of climbing from the Malla and Saana car park at Kilpisjärvi into the roadless fells to Halti, the highest point of Finland (1,324 m on the Finnish side). Nights are usually spent at the Saarijärvi or Kuonjarjoki, Meekonjärvi and Pihtsusjärvi huts, and the route passes the Pihtsusköngäs waterfall; there is no road at Halti, so plan to walk back or arrange transport.
