Trail description

The usual way up Slættaratindur (880 m), the highest mountain in the Faroe Islands, starts at the Eiðisskarð pass and climbs steeply to below the summit, then circles the top on its west and north sides to reach it from the east. No technical climbing is needed, and in clear weather the summit looks out over the whole archipelago. By local tradition, people climb it around 21 June to watch the sun set and rise again.
