Leynavegurin (Leynar to Hvalvík)

Trail description

Leynavegurin is the old village path between Leynar and Hvalvík on Streymoy; this section runs from the valley above Leynar north over the pass Húsadalsskarð (529 m) and down to Hvalvík. The wide valley along the river Dalá is quiet, with columnar basalt near the gully Djúpagil, while the climb through the gorge to the pass is fairly steep with some loose ground. In Hvalvík the path starts by the Mission House and follows the river Myllá.
