Mount Zuqualla from Adulala

Trail description

A climb of about 8.9 km and 1,190 m from the farming village of Adulala, south of Addis Ababa near Dukem, up the slopes of Mount Zuqualla to the rim of its crater at almost 3,000 m. The extinct volcano's crater holds a sacred lake and the old monastery of Abune Gebre Menfes Kidus in juniper forest; visitors pay a small fee at the monastery, and women may not enter some of its grounds.
