Majakivi and Pikanõmme Study Trail

Trail description

Starting from a car park near Virve village, this loop crosses the centre of the Juminda peninsula in Lahemaa, where pine-covered sand ridges alternate with strips of bog. It passes Majakivi, Lahemaa's largest erratic boulder at 7 m high and 32 m around, and reaches the Pikanõmme observation tower on the peninsula's highest point. About 2 km of the route is boardwalk, and the tower is off limits during thunderstorms.
