Trail description
A 7.7 km ascent via paths and a trail to the summit of San Marcelino volcano, 1,480 m, within the Santa Ana volcanic complex. San Marcelino, also known as San Andrés or Cerro Quemado, is the northernmost of three parasitic cones aligned southwest of the Santa Ana volcano, near Cerro El Chino and Cerro La Olla. Its last eruption in 1722 left behind the ash layer known as Teixcal and destroyed the village of San Juan Tecpa in the Zapotitán valley.
