Rucu Pichincha from the TelefériQo

Trail description

A high-altitude hike from the upper station of Quito's TelefériQo cable car (about 4000 m) along the ridge to the summit of Rucu Pichincha (4698 m), a popular acclimatization climb above the city. Start early: walkers are advised to leave the cable car station before 10:30, robberies have been reported on the trail and hiring a guide is recommended.
