Trail description

This short walk climbs from Trafalgar village in the Roseau valley up the lane to the falls car park, then follows the rainforest trail to the viewing platform below the Trafalgar Falls in Morne Trois Pitons National Park. The twin falls are known as Papa, the taller one on the left at about 125 ft, and Mama, the shorter but fuller one on the right at about 75 ft, both on tributaries of the Roseau River. Beside the trail an orange spring gets its colour from iron in the clay, and the stream from the hot springs at the foot of Papa is noticeably warm. A rockslide in 1995 buried the old pools at the base of the falls, so take care on the wet boulders beyond the platform.
