Salto de San Claudio (Las Terrazas)

Trail description

A 5.9 km hike along paths and trails alongside the San Claudio stream to its waterfall, in the Sierra del Rosario, near Las Terrazas, Artemisa. The sierra, part of the Guaniguanico mountain range, has been a UNESCO Biosphere Reserve since 1984. The Las Terrazas reserve protects 5,000 ha of secondary forest planted on terraces over deforested hills, featuring lakes, rivers, and waterfalls; excursions must be booked at the local tourism office.
