Trail description

A 2-day climb of 17 km and about 2,210 m from the hamlet of Herradura above San Gerardo de Rivas to Cerro Urán (3,614 m), a quieter neighbour of Chirripó in the Talamanca range. The route climbs through farmland and oak cloud forest to the páramo, with a night camped below the summit; the first quarter follows the farm road out of Herradura, and the trail crosses community land, so arrange the climb with a local guide in Herradura.
