Trail description

This route leaves the Cockscomb Basin Wildlife Sanctuary headquarters and climbs about 240 m over 3.2 km to the Tiger Fern double waterfall, with natural swimming pools, and on to the Tiger Fern summit viewpoint over the basin. It is one of the toughest hikes in the sanctuary, the world's first jaguar preserve, managed by the Belize Audubon Society. A guide has been required on this trail since July 2022; the sanctuary opens 8 am to 4:30 pm and charges non-nationals a day fee.
