Trail description
From Falls Creek village, this walk crosses the Bogong High Plains on resort roads and alpine paths past Rocky Valley to Wallaces Hut, a slab hut built by cattlemen in 1889 and one of the oldest in the Victorian Alps. The out-and-back is 17.4 km with about 530 m of climbing, mostly above 1,500 m among snow gums and grassland. The plains are exposed and the weather changes quickly, and in winter the area is under snow.
