Trail description

From Vatia village, just before the Mount 'Alava Elementary School, the trail climbs switchbacks through rainforest to a ridge-top with ocean views, then descends steeply on ladders with ropes to a rocky beach facing Pola Island. About 3.5 km return; closed on Sundays, and the NPS warns not to enter the ocean at the beach.
