Liqeni i Dashit Loop from Doberdol

Trail description

From the high summer pastures of Dobërdol, this short loop climbs through meadows and over rocky ground to Liqeni i Dashit, one of the larger glacial lakes of the Albanian Alps. The final approach is rocky and not clearly marked, and the return follows a 4x4 track with wide views over Dobërdol. It is about 6.6 km with under 400 m of ascent, around 2.5 hours, a good half day for anyone staying in Dobërdol on the Peaks of the Balkans trail. Summer is the season; the water is very cold and the lake bed is sharp, so water shoes help for a swim.
